Auto AC Diagnosis & Inspection
in Downey, CA
AC blowing warm, cycling on and off, or making odd noises? We use professional leak detection equipment and system pressure gauges to find the real problem — then fix it right. All repairs backed by a 2-year / 24K-mile nationwide warranty.
What We Do
AC Diagnosis & Inspection Done Right
A good AC diagnosis does one thing: it finds the actual cause of your cooling problem. Low refrigerant, a failing compressor, a clogged orifice tube, a bad blend door, and a weak fan motor can all feel like the same symptom at the dashboard vent. Guessing — or just recharging and hoping — wastes money.
At Lynn's, we start every AC job with a full system inspection: high-side and low-side pressure readings, temperature across the evaporator and condenser, fan and clutch operation, UV dye or electronic leak testing, and a visual inspection of the hoses and o-rings.
50+ years of AC work means we know where each platform tends to fail — R-134a vs R-1234yf systems, which compressors are junk from the factory, which evaporators leak at the dogleg, which blower motors burn resistors. That pattern-matching is what gets you a right-first-time fix.

Our Process
How We Fix It Right the First Time
System Pressure Test
We connect to both high-side and low-side service ports and read pressures against factory spec. Pressures tell us whether the system is undercharged, overcharged, or blocked.
Leak & Component Test
Using UV dye, electronic sniffer, and targeted visual inspection, we find leaks at condensers, evaporators, hoses, and o-rings. We also test the compressor clutch, cycle switch, and fans.
Written Quote & Same-Day Fix
We show you what we found, give you an itemized quote, and most AC repairs are completed the same day — so you leave with cold air.
Every Repair Backed by a 2-Year / 24,000-Mile
Nationwide Warranty
If anything we fix has an issue within 2 years or 24,000 miles of the repair date, we'll make it right — no matter where you are in the country. That's our commitment to every customer, on every repair, since 1974.
Questions from Downey Drivers
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is an AC diagnosis at Lynn's?
Our AC system inspection includes pressure tests, leak detection, and component testing. Call (562) 803-5611 for current pricing — the diagnostic fee is applied toward the repair if you proceed with us.
How long does a full AC inspection take?
Typically 60–90 minutes on the shop floor. Heavily modified systems or hidden leaks can take longer. We'll give you an ETA when you drop off.
Can you find a slow refrigerant leak?
Yes. Slow leaks are our specialty. If electronic sniffing doesn't reveal it, we'll add UV dye, send you off, and have you come back in a few days so the dye can expose the leak point. Most slow leaks show themselves within a week of normal driving.
Do you work on R-1234yf systems?
Yes. We have the equipment to service both legacy R-134a and newer R-1234yf systems — the refrigerant found in most 2015+ vehicles. R-1234yf requires its own recovery machine and different safety protocols, and we're equipped for both.
Is the repair warranted?
Every repair at Lynn's is backed by a 2-year / 24,000-mile nationwide warranty on parts and labor. If the same problem comes back within that period, we make it right.
